Dr. Andrew Huberman has been contributing extensively to the field of neuroscience. He specializes in brain development, brain plasticity, and neural regeneration, areas piquing the interest of many professionals, students, and other individuals. Recent work in his lab has focused on brain states such as courage and fear relating to vision and respiration. This is only one of the many contributions that have earned him the McKnight Foundation Neuroscience Scholar Award and Pew Charitable Trusts' Biomedical Scholar Award.
He is currently a professor of neurobiology at the Stanford University School of Medicine. He also runs the university's Huberman Lab, which aims to understand more about how the brain works in relation to researching how to repair it due to diseases and injury. One of the most significant research in the laboratory is the 2018 discovery of two new mammalian brain circuits that concern fear and paralysis and another that promotes brave/confrontational reactions to visually evoked threats. This discovery led to further studies about the role of the circuits' brain region in anxiety-related disorders. The laboratory's exceptional works were featured in top journals and renowned publications such as TIME and BBC.
In 2021, Dr. Huberman started the Huberman Lab Podcast, which discusses the lab's neuroscience and science-based tools. This has made neuroscience knowledge much more accessible to the public. It has become a popular podcast among listeners not even a year since its launch.
