After years of working New York's comedy circuit, sometimes performing up to nine times a night, American actress, stand-up comedian, and writer Ali Wong became a household name in 2016 following the release of her debut Netflix special, Baby Cobra. Named one of "10 Comics to Watch" by Variety in 2011, she appeared on The Tonight Show, John Oliver's New York Stand Up Show and Dave Atell's Comedy Underground Show later that year, and in 2014 was hired as a writer for the comedy television series Fresh Off the Boat. In 2018, Wong released her second Netflix special, Hard Knock Wife. She has also appeared in American Housewife, Are You There, Chelsea?, Inside Amy Schumer, and Black Box. 2019 saw Wong writing and starring alongside Randall Park in the film "Always Be My Maybe", and voicing the titular character Bertie in the Netflix animated show "Tuca & Bertie".
