Dreamcatcher sets itself apart from most Korean girl groups' usual catchy pop tunes. Instead, the septet, composed of Jiu, Sua, Siyeon, Handong, Yoohyeon, Dami, and Gahyeon, has rock and metal-infused tracks paired with the girls’ melodic vocals. They debuted in 2017 under Happyface Entertainment. Their first single, “Chase Me,” took the Kpop world by storm thanks to its unique concept, fresh sound, and the members’ remarkable vocal talents. After their stellar debut, Dreamcatcher released their highly-acclaimed sophomore single album, Fall Asleep in the Mirror. The record spawned the hit single, “Good Night,” which garnered tens of millions of streams on various platforms.
By July of 2017, Dreamcatcher dropped their debut EP titled Prequel. The EP peaked at number 5 on the Billboard World Albums chart. Prequel was preceded by the hit single, “Fly High,” which received wide critical acclaim. In 2018, Dreamcatcher dropped “Full Moon,” which debuted at number 16 on the Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart. Two years later, Dreamcatcher finally released their debut album, Dystopia: The Tree of Language. The album peaked at number 3 on the Korean chart and was highly regarded by fans and critics. This 2022, Dreamcatcher’s sophomore album Save Me: Apocalypse was dropped. The album made its way to number 4 on the Korean charts. The sophomore record also had a breakthrough into the Finnish charts, landing at number 26.
