Coming from Oakland in sunny California, the independent music mainstays Shannon and the Clams is a tight-knit collaboration between band members: Shannon Shaw (vocals, bass), Cody Blanchard (vocals, guitar), Nate Mahan (drums), and Will Sprott (vocals, keyboards).

The group is taking a fiercely poignant shift in sound with their forthcoming album The Moon Is In The Wrong Place, arriving on the 10th May, via Easy Eye Sound. Produced by longtime collaborator, Dan Auerbach (The Black Keys), this new album sees their sonics go from black and white to technicolor. Faced with the heartbreaking and unexpected loss of singer-bassist Shannon Shaw’s fiancé, Joe Haener, in a car accident just weeks before their wedding, the album is a holistic exploration of grief and a celebration of life. “We all felt the urgency of making something that reckoned with this meteor that smashed into our planet,” the band’s Will Sprott said in a statement. “This is the most focused record we’ve ever done, as far as everything coming from a singular traumatic event.”

The Moon Is In The Wrong Place is also coupled with the most expansive, impressive songs and arrangements of their renowned catalog. This is your chance to witness this raw new album live and up close! “The record finds Shannon & The Clams launching into a raw but honest confrontation with the death of a loved one” (Grimy Goods)

Active from 2007, The Moon Is In the Wrong Place stands as Shannon & The Clams’ 7th collaborative studio album. Over the past 15 years, the group has carved up a sound that rises from Buddy Holly and 1960s girl groups as well as influences like "music from '50s oldies to '80s punk."

We can’t think of a better venue to celebrate the forthcoming album than the iconic Wiltern. Located in LA, this awesome venue is the absolute place to be for this must-see concert. With a 1,850 seating capacity, epic acoustics and an incredible lineup of first-class artists, we know this performance is going to go down in history! The venue has already played host to industry powerhouses like The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, and Prince, so you can imagine the hype for this event!
