The Wiltern
The Truth & Consequences Tour from Sam Harris is coming to The Wiltern on Wednesday, January 21st. Sam, a neuroscientist and philosopher, has turned into one of the more prominent talking heads in the podcast world over the last few years. If you've been following along, you know, he might be one of the few people who's able to provide a true opinion on a matter without slapping his political agenda on it 100%.
He's not a Trump supporter, but let's be honest, most of those aren't giving talks at The Wiltern! However, he's able to take the positives and negatives from the administration or other issues within the world at large and provide a thoughtful point of view. This is one of the few talks that isn't going to turn into a political rally. It's a deep conversation where people with different views can co-exist and take something from the experience. What's the Truth & Consequences talk really about? Sam Harris actually addressed this in his latest podcast when talking about the prep work that goes into these live shows. The thing is, what he talks about at other stops might not be remotely similar to what you'll hear in LA. Things can change a ton in the newscycle from now until the start of the year. Sam Harris makes it a point to offer unique and fresh takes on the things that are going on in the world. That's why he's actually on a very limited run. He takes these talks really seriously, and he's hoping to offer true perspectives on topics that people care about.
Over the years, Sam Harris has done town hall-style events in an effort to really connect with the audience. One of the things that makes his Q&A sessions really compelling is the willingness to listen through to get a good grasp of what the person's trying to say. Then, when he breaks things down, he can provide an honest opinion. At the end of the day, you can agree or not with what he's saying, but you can tell he's giving his honest opinion. As mentioned before, his opinions aren't as close-knit as they are with other people. Recently, he talked about the fact that Trump helped reach a ceasefire between Israel and Gaza. Not being a Trump supporter, he admitted this would've probably not happened under Biden or Harris. That's unheard in political commentary these days.
To see the talk, finding a spot in the middle of the theater or maybe even just a few rows back is fine. Being in the middle or near it isn't as key at these types of showcases. However, being closer to the stage might grant you a better chance of participating in the Q&A. That's something that you're going to want to take into account when you purchase your seats.
If you click the "Buy Tickets" button, you'll have a chance to find spots inside The Wiltern for this event. Get your spots soon, they could sell out.
