Maz Jobrani is celebrating his heritage (Iranian and American) on stage with his laffathon of comedy trek; "The Mr. International Comedy Tour." There, like he has always done, will deliver a laughalicious set filled with superb comedic timing, loads of crowd interaction, and of course, his observational humor.
Jobrani's parents, emigrants from Iran, wanted him to take the traditional route to create a career, as a doctor, a lawyer, or even an engineer, but the call to stand-up and acting was too great. From the age of twelve, he wanted to enter the arts, and later in professional life, during a meeting with his boss at a copy-writing agency, he was given the words of wisdom to go out and grab what he wanted.
He worked his way up on the comedy circuit at the likes of Sunset Boulevard's Comedy Store, and with the confidence and motivation he gained, he became one of the founders of the "Axis of Evil Comedy Tour" in '05 which comprised of Middle Eastern comedians Ahmed Ahemd, Aron Kader, Dean Obeidallah, and of course, our hero, Maz Jobrani.
The move helped boost his career, which skyrocketed. Recently, he has been the likable character, "Fawz" on the CBS sitcom, Superior Donuts and has also made appearances on "Grey's Anatomy, Better Off Ted, Shameless, Last Man Standing, and Curb Your Enthusiasm. Plus, he is a regular on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" and also with James Corden, as well as hosting his own pod called "Back To School With Maz" on the All Things Comedy Network.
In 2016, he performed at the White House, gave a speech as a UC Berkeley alum in 2017, hosted the 45th International Emmys in New York, and gave two amazing Ted Talks... and we haven't even mentioned his comedy specials yet, such as, "I'm Not a Terrorist, But I've Played One TV" and the "Immigrant."
The dude has done it all and now you get to experience the man of the moment in all of his glory on stage at the outstanding Wiltern. Snagging your tickets right here and now is a must, so what are you waitin' for? Get it done right now!!!!
