Connecticut-based jam rockers Goose just added a slew of headlining shows to their non-stop 2023 trek. This time around, they're heading to The Wiltern on September 28th, set to rock out the crowd with their all-time favorite hits and critically-acclaimed tracks across their studio records. Last year, they dropped their newest EP "Undecided", a collection of live show favorites.
Produced by D. James Goodwin and recorded in NYC from their "Dripfield" sessions, "These four songs have been around for a long time," shares band vocalist and guitarist Rick Mitarotonda. "We’ve performed different versions over the years and we wanted to capture them in a new and exciting way."
Well, you're definitely in for a wild ride as Goose extends its 2023 live trek this Fall. Set to perform a slew of crowd favorites, they might bring in new mixes along the way. Nonetheless, it's a rockin' celebration!
Beyond their astounding studio talent, the band is well-known for its euphoric live performances. Since 2014, the Connecticut jam rockers amassed a following not only for their musical talent but for their tracks that surely hit hard. Unlike most jam projects that find pitfalls in recording, Goose comes out strong for its dedication to creating music that hits the feels as they rock it out.
In a review by Pitchfork, Brandy Gerber notes that "Goose have a distinct ability to put listeners in a trance, even stopping time for a little bit. It’s one of the defining powers of jam bands, and Dripfield has enough humble peaks and valleys to bring us into their world."
Oh, heck yeah! It's definitely a rockin' world with Goose. Often compared to jam bands Phish and Umphrey's McGee, Goose prides itself as an "indie groove" band while living up to its jam band influences.
Highly regarded as "America's Next Great Jam Band", the rockers look forward to sharing a new record anytime soon. Word says it's coming out next year. "We’re playing a ton of music that hasn’t been recorded and we want to record most of it," Mitarotonda shared with UPROXX in an interview.
Seasoned Goose concert-goers definitely know that the band loves to tease new song live on stage. Heck, you've probably heard a lot of their new songs live before they were officially released.
Mitarotonda explains that "there was just this energy of, “We’re cranking out tunes right now, and we need to play them.” Because we were playing all these shows, and we didn’t want to be playing the same shit over and over. We were just hungry to play new music."
As Goose embarks on a series of shows this Fall, we're stoked to hear what sonic surprises they have in store for the crowd at The Wiltern. Make sure to save your seats at the party by booking those tickets now!
